What to Expect at Your Child’s Medical Visit

At each well-child visit, we will review weight, height, and BMI to determine how your child is growing. We will check blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing. We will conduct a head-to-toe physical exam. An FCC provider will ask you questions and listen to any concerns you have about your child’s health and development. FCC will screen your child for meeting developmental milestones according to Texas Health Steps and CDC guidance. We will explain, recommend, and give to your child any immunizations that are due and that you approve for your child. We participate in the Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) Program to ensure that all children are able to receive vaccines at low or no cost.

For each age stage, there are additional age-specific well-child questions, screenings, labs, and discussions at your visit.
